Bakker & Lewis Architects was established in 1988 to provide a full scope of architectural services to residential, commercial and institutional clients, and maintain a commitment to employing sustainable building practices. Both partners have managed a broad range of project types including new
buildings, renovations and additions. The firm has prepared planning,
feasibility studies and working drawings for the adaptive reuse and
historic preservation of existing facilities, having been involved in
numerous projects that were contributing buildings to an Historic
District. Over fifty percent of their work involves renovation, and
often involves integrating a new structure with an existing one. The
firm has experience working with the unique project requirements of
athletic, performing arts, and student activity buildings. The members of the firm embody a broad scope of skills and abilities,
including: planning, programming, feasibilility studies, promotional renderings, site
analysis, project budgeting, architectural design, project
administration, construction observation and facilities management.
